Development history and present situation of plant extracts

China has abundant resources of Chinese herbal medicine, and there are less than 10000 kinds available. There are more than 1000-1200 kinds commonly used. Among them, plant herbs account for about 90%. The extraction and utilization of plant components have a long history, but there is no independent industry. Until 1970s, some domestic pharmaceutical enterprises only extract Chinese medicine by machinery, but it is still only a medicine industry A part of the industry. Plant extract is a term containing modern processing technology. It was first developed in Europe and America in 1980s. Because of the improvement of industrialization and deeper utilization of resources, plant extracts gradually received market favor for its natural and healthy properties. Limited by technology, we started late in plant extracts, but it has developed rapidly. Only the export of plant extracts of traditional Chinese medicine accounts for more than 40% of the total export of traditional Chinese medicine. The industry is also developing to high quality, and is gradually changing from single raw material export to diversified application.
